Climatic change justice for rural women

This program focuses on adoption, resilience, innovation and inclusion in climate change programs for rural women.  WESDO supports rural women in renewable energy technologies including solar energy, green technologies, energy saving stoves and other innovative solution as a gender supportive response to climate changes. Agro forestry is also integrated in the agricultural program through boundary tree planting, fruit trees and coffee growing. Furthermore, women through their grassroots movements participate in advocacy initiatives for local governments to integrate climate change measures into district policies, strategies and plans. WESDO builds capacity women to engage and influence decision makers at district level to incorporate climate change measures into district and sub county development plans and budgets.
